Moxabustion

Moxa is a herb,  it is made from the seed casing of a plant called Artemesia Vulgaris, which grows in this country( in fact an example of it is on display at Warwick Castle in the medieval herbs section).

In Japan the technique of Moxibustion is done as a single therapy by Moxibustion practioners. It has a 1000 year old history, and can be used in pregnancy, as well as many types of conditions.

Moxibustion is a technique where the herb is smouldered on the skin to warm up an Acupuncture point, it is then removed when the point is warm, no mark is left on the skin. There are many types of Moxa.

Moxa can be also be used in stick form to warm the points without touching the skin.

It is an ideal treatment for children,  they really respond to it.

Moxa is not used on every patient so I will discuss it with you, and demonstrate it's use if need be.
Moxa is excellent for all sorts of conditions from frozen shoulders to turning breech babies.
