When I was training as an Acupuncturist over 20 years ago, I had the good fortune to be taught by Zita West, who was a Midwife at Warwick Hospital. Traditional Acupuncture has been used for 2000 years in the Far East to treat conditions associated with infertility and conception for Men and Women. Here are some of the conditions that can cause problems with a couples chances of conception.
Endometriosis, Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, irregular periods, Progesterone and Oestrogen imbalance, irregular ovulation, rising FSH levels, Thyroid disease, Coeliac Disease, and other Auto-Immune diseases. Some prescribed medications change fertility. A family history of infertility, older women and conception.

Research by the Human Fertilization and Embryology Authority (HFEA) see their website ' How to research a Fertility Clinic;' demonstrates how difficult it is to compare the success rate of all the Fertility treatments available in all the Clinics.
When comparing the success rate the consensus seems to be that -
* depending on age of the mother and the reason for infertility
the 'take home a baby rate ' from these clinics is at best 20%. and for some types of infertility, will be less.
These are very low results for any procedure , let alone something as expensive as infertility treatment.
